At Couple of Scoops, we believe in serving more than just fresh and premium ice cream and scoops of bagged candy—we’re truly serving our Gig Harbor community. Our mission is to create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with Autism and other Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, thus fostering a workplace where everyone feels belonging, contributes, and thrives in so many ways. A business built for the sole purpose of enriching the lives of some really Special People, with no personal financial gain.
Couple of Scoops started as another idea from a dad, a dad that built Couple of Socks in the Tacoma Mall years ago. A dad with daughters, one of those daughter's is named Molly. Molly loves people, people and ice cream actually. It made sense, bring people together and show the good in some really special people - Serve sweet treats and create a place where everyone feels valued with a fun and purposeful business model that solely exists to enrich our staff's lives. We’re building a team that feels included, feels purpose, and senses their value in our community. Every scoop we serve is a reminder that inclusion makes life a little sweeter.
At Couple of Scoops, every cone, cup, sundae and bag of candy purchased supports meaningful jobs for some really Special People in our community. Do you want to help us, help others? Spread the word about what we're doing, share your experience with friends, family, heck-the whole world. Follow us on social media, let us host your FUNDRAISER, bring your community group, bible study group, even your gaming group, we'd love to see you. Even be so bold as to hire someone with Autism or other Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities in your own business or workplace, step out and change a persons life.
At Couple of Scoops, walking through our doors feels like stepping back into fun. Think bold colors, shiny counters, red chairs, and the warm glow of hanging lights. Every detail is designed to capture the playful spirit of an old-fashioned, yet colorful ice cream parlor with tons of candy.
Our shop is more than a stop for dessert or a candy treat—it’s a place to linger, laugh, and make memories. Families can settle into cozy chairs, kids can peek over the counter to watch their scoops being served, and friends can catch up while sharing a sundae or their favorite scoop of candy.
Behind the smiles and scoops is something deeper: every scoop is served by a team built on inclusion and belonging. We are proud to provide meaningful jobs for adults with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, our shop is really more about our people and giving them an opportuniuty to thrive, using ice cream and candy as a vehicle to do such is a bonus.
